What To Wear- 12 Days In The Caribbean
Flowy Dresses
A flowy dress is a must in the Caribbean, as it keeps you cool in the hot temperatures. For little girls, pair a flowy dress with biker shorts underneath to keep them covered when that ocean breeze hits.
Long Sleeve Swimsuits
The only time I’ve ever gotten sunburned was in the Caribbean. The sun is no joke. Wearing Long-sleeve swimsuits (bonus if they have SPF) makes a HUGE difference for a long beach day, especially for the kids. It gives me more peace that they are more protected from the sun.
A Straw Hat
The name of the game is protect the face. A straw hat was a go-to for my kids and me during our stay. It really helped shield us from the sun. My forehead gets burnt easily, so a hat is a must for me, and these little straw hats are super cute and functional for kids.
Sheer Cover Up + Straw Tote Bag
There is a conundrum in hot climates: you want to stay cool, but the sun is BURNING you, and you need to cover up. Enter a sheer cover-up. My favorite is a sheer button-down top you can just slip on. It provides coverage from direct sun while still being breathable, so it doesn’t make you hotter.
Another thing I always bring is a straw tote bag. It fits all my things and the children's things, and they don’t carry a ton of sand.
Linen
Nothing is better than linen for keeping you cool and covered. I love these kids’ linen sets I got for the girls. They are high quality, I have had them for years, and they are still in great condition. It’s definitely worth the investment for children to purchase some linen pieces.
Matching Mommy and Me Swimsuits
I may be biased here, but nothing is cuter than mommy and me swimsuits on vacation, but not the cheesy ones. There are many brands creating really cute mommy-and-me swimsuit options these days. Samsies, is one of our favorite brands.
