What To Wear Autumn In Japan - Family Outfits

Teamlabs

The weather in the Fall (late November) was not that cold. Around mid 60’s F, so a leather jacket was the perfect thing to bring along and wear basically every day. It’s easy to style with many outfits and immediately gives you a “cool” factor. Plus a leather jacket on a child is possibly one of the cutest things ever.

Harajuku

You will walk a lot in Japan, especially when visiting different neighborhoods. For a day around Harajuku, our outfits were comfy yet chic. Balloon hem pants make any outfit cool, and adding a tie to a more casual look is very much my vibe right now. I had to get little ties for the girls as well. These little skorts were a great way to have them dressed up while staying comfy. I also made sure to pack knit tights for them that kept them warm in the cool weather. Most days, we all wore out combat boots, which were comfy for walking yet still very stylish.

Chidorigafuchi Park

The parks in Tokyo are gorgeous, especially in the Fall. We opted for a little boat ride this day. I was loving these floral micro shorts, which I could only pull off thanks to these Noosh fleece-lined tights that look like skin underneath. It’s a great hack that lets you wear shorts and short skirts in the Fall/Winter without getting cold. My husband's pill box hat instantly elevated all his outfits with minimal effort. And pairing sweaters with shorts on the girls with their knit tights and combat boots kept them warm and cute. I’m also very into all types of eyeglasses lately; they instantly add something special to your outfit.

Asakusa

Strolling around the Sensoji Temple and Asakusa neighborhood to see the sites and grab some famous Matcha ice cream. My husband's bomber jacket was perfect for the day, and the kids' outfits from The Sunday Collective were top tier. They have really cute kids' clothes, all perfect for Japan-style. These toddler plaid balloon pants and skirt really added to their looks. I was itching to wear my paper bag waist shorts, and thanks to my fleece-lined tights, I could.

Gion Kyoto

Kyoto is a little more reserved than Tokyo, so I felt a little exposed in my denim micro shorts, but pairing them with black opaque fleece tights made them less aggressive and kept me warm. A good toddler balloon jean will make literally any outfit cute cute. Turtlenecks were also a great way to keep them warm, and, of course, I had to wear my personality glasses.

Nara Park

To visit the deer in Nara park the collegiate vibe just felt right. The girls in their cute grey skorts, and I had to pair my leather jacket with a tie. I also wore a blue button-down top with a brown skort. Hubby's cable knit sweater was thick and cozy, and I’m really into men's balloon/barrel leg pants. It really adds to their look. Also, you can never go wrong with Adidas Sambas; they go with so many looks and are comfy, so they can easily be the only shoes you pack.

Tokyo Tower

Going to the top of the Tokyo tower was pretty fun, but so was just walking through the neighborhood surrounding it. I was obsessed with the plaid barrel-leg pants I wore on our last day. And the leather jacket and combat boots really paired well with all my outfits the whole trip. I loved my daughter's red tulle skirt and paired it with a more casual look for the day, and my other daughter's matching red plaid set was a hit. We definitely went for retro vibes this day, and my husband's striped polo shirt says it all.
