How To Book A Not So Basic Trip

I don’t know if you’re anything like me but every time when the year is coming to an end, I’m always thinking about where I would like to travel the next year. The more places I’ve been, the more I’m looking to expand worthwhile places to visit. Insert Expedia’s 2026 Destinations of the Year — a list of travel-worthy places that goes beyond typical tourist spots and is geared toward more meaningful travel. One of them being the Cotswolds which we absolutely loved visiting this year. I’ve always wanted to visit the English Countryside so when we got an opportunity to visit this year, I was ESTATIC. As much as I love living in the city, I truly love disconnecting and enjoying nature in the countryside. We stayed in a luxury tree house and yes it was as amazing as it sounds. The views were breathtaking and the food especially the fresh fish was such a treat. They even served us drinks while we relaxed in the hot tubs—seriously such an unforgettable experience.

I’m already planning to go back so I can see even more of what this special place has to offer and I’m not surprised at all that it’s part of Expedias 2026 Destinations of the Year. You’re going to see A LOT of people visiting this gorgeous place in next year and I’m sure you don’t want FOMO so I would definitely add it to your list. I’m going to be also using this list to help me plan some of my travels for next year because I love finding places that the tourist haven’t overrun yet. Not only is the Cotswolds a gorgeous and unique area fit for a storybook, it also meets the standards for Expedia’s Smart Travel Health Check which spotlights places that are actively managing tourism sustainably inspired by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) six sustainability principles. This dreamy place quickly has become one of our favorite places we’ve traveled to this year.
