4 Fun Things To Do In Tampa
It was my first time visiting Tampa Bay, and it was a good thing I went with a group because I would have no idea what to do there. Turns out there is way more than I thought. I’m not sure I'll ever find myself in Tampa again, but between the amazing food and fun activities, I've really come to appreciate its appeal. Here are some activities we did in Tampa that would be fun for a family, with friends, or even solo!
CIGAR MAKING CLASS AT J.C. NEWMAN CIGAR CO
If you’ve never made cigars before, this is a cool experience where they walk you through the process of making handmade cigars as well as teach you how to make your own.
CANDLE MAKING AT THE CANDLE POUR
This was a fun experience where you could choose your own scents and mix them together to make your own signature candle. They walk you through the process and help you along the way as you mix your scents with the melted wax. Be mindful if you are sensitive to smells, because there are a lot of smells here! When you’ve finished your candle, they cure it, and you are able to name it something special. This place is also great if you want to make a custom gift for someone.
COOKING CLASS AT THE EPICUREAN HOTEL
The Epicuren hotel offers cooking classes where you can cook with an actual chef. Because our group was large, we each had a station and cooked parts of the meal. Our theme was Southern, with dishes like chicken-fried steak, collard greens, black-eyed peas, fried green tomatoes, and more. Everything came out so well, and the chef was really helpful in showing us how to cook each meal properly. They had a charcuterie board for us to graze on while we cooked, and the wine and drinks were flowing. It was such a fun time, and afterwards we got to eat a very tasty meal.
CHEESE MAKING CLASS AT CHEESOLOGY
I didn't partake in cheese-making because I don’t eat cheese, but everyone in our group who participated loved it and said the cheese was so good. They made fresh mozzarella from scratch in the class. Sounds like a cheese lover’s dream.
